SUMMARY:Webinar - Shielding Your Well-Being: Moral Injury
DESCRIPTION:Professionals in the helping fields are more likely to be exposed to conduct\, material and circumstances that can lead to vicarious trauma. Individuals can be personally affected by the trauma of victims and others they witness and work with on a daily basis which can impact them professionally and personally. \nIn the line of duty\, when an individual is in a position to have someone else’s life or safety in their hands and is required due to the circumstances\, to be witness to an act or directly act in a way that goes against their own moral beliefs\, a moral injury can occur. This type of impact\, often considered a “soul wound” and can lead to a shattering of one’s worldview\, one’s belief and trust in others and potentially\, one’s trust in oneself. This presentation will discuss vicarious trauma and the effects of moral injury\, as well as\, identify tools and techniques to mitigate the negative effects on individuals in the workplace and personal lives. \nThis is part 1 of a 3 part series. \nRegister \n**Please note\, class time is listed in Pacific Standard Time (PST)

SUMMARY:Webinar - Effective Leadership Series: The Attuned Leader
DESCRIPTION:This webinar series will address wellness strategies of those in leadership roles to help law enforcement\, prosecutors\, and other investigative personnel to manage stress from their difficult work in combating child sexual exploitation. This series will walk those in management positions through the necessary wellness steps needed to create an effective team. There will be a focus on mitigating the challenges faced by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force members. \nA strong leader recognizes that being in tune with themselves and with the mental wellness of their team members is crucial for individual accountability and optimal team function. Self-compassion is an important part of wellness and an effective tool for enhancing performance. \nSelf-compassion entails being intentional about caring for one’s wellbeing and focusing on growth when there are challenges. Once a well-established wellness plan is in place\, the next step is working with the team so they can be aware of their own needs with respect to mental wellness. An effective supervisor understands the importance of connection as a way to lead others\, and sees the benefit in building a trusting relationship where others willingly follow. \nThis is part 1 of a 4 part series. \nRegister \n**Please note\, class time is listed in Pacific Standard Time (PST)

SUMMARY:Webinar - Shielding Your Well-being Series: All About Trauma
DESCRIPTION:This webinar series will examine transformational meaning and its role in trauma recovery and post-traumatic growth.
